Antalya Airport to Finike Transfer

From Antalya Airport the D400 heads west along the coast through Kemer, running below the pine-forested slopes of the Beydağları with glimpses of the sea on the left for much of the way. Past the turning for Olympos and Çıralı the road drops onto the flat greenhouse plain around Kumluca, then continues on to Finike, where the valley opens out onto the coast among the orange groves. It's an easier stretch than the routes further along the coast, with fewer of the tight bends that come later towards Demre and Kaş.

Finike is a working marina and market town rather than a holiday resort — its harbour has taken yachts on the Lycian coast since the late 1990s, and the orange is enough of a local symbol to have its own monument in the town centre. Inland, the valley shelters two of the more remarkable Lycian sites on this coast: Arycanda, a city built in terraces up a mountainside above the Elmalı road, with a stadium and theatre still standing; and Limyra, a few kilometres north, where hundreds of rock-cut tombs climb the cliff above the old Lycian capital. Both make an easy half-day out from a Finike base.
