Your Antalya Airport to Kekova transfer follows the D400 west along the coast, past Kemer, through Kumluca's greenhouses and Finike's orange groves, and down into the Demre valley — home of ancient Myra and the Church of St Nicholas. Rather than continuing on to Kaş, the road to Kekova turns off shortly after Demre and drops through pine forest to sea level at Üçağız, so this transfer never goes as far as Kaş.

Üçağız is a small fishing harbour on a bay protected from the open sea, and it's where boats leave for the half-sunken Lycian city along Kekova island's northern shore and for the hilltop castle at Kaleköy (ancient Simena). The ruins went under after a series of earthquakes in the 2nd century, and the whole area has been protected since 1990: swimming and diving directly over the sunken city are banned, so most visitors see it from a slow-moving boat, or by sea kayak for a closer look. Kaleköy itself has no roads for cars — everything moves by boat or on foot — and its rock-cut tombs run down almost to the waterline, with one sarcophagus sitting half-submerged at the shore.
